about

lyrics

It may seem
I won’t adhere to this
But the times I've tried
Always seemed so hit or miss

She's the one with the hourglass in her hand
I'm the one with the second hand wrapped around my neck

Feel my temperature drop
With every thought for her
But these tired lungs
Haven't had a thing to breathe today
To say these things

She's the one with the hourglass in her hand
I'm the one with the second hand wrapped around my neck

Feel my temperature drop
I'm asleep
And I can dream, here, anything
And I don't feel alone
When she comes to wake me up

If my conscious ain’t got a clue
Then my conscience isn't being used
She saves up all her time
Wrapped in her fingers while it slips through mine

She's the one with the hourglass in her hand
I'm the one with the second hand wrapped around my neck
Feel my temperature
Drop

from I'll Repay You: A Benefit for John Fackler - featuring the songs of John Fackler and Jettison, released May 20, 2016
Written by John Fackler, though he could have never imagined those horns. He is very happy with those horns. Bridge has been expanded into the dream sequence it was always intended to be by this amazing band. Fackler has been told that Chris Wagner had a lot to do with that part of the arrangement, but is not completely sure to what degree. John does know that John Velghe came up with those horn lines on his guitar before showing it to his horn section, who elevated the outro to a level approaching the heavens. John really likes those horns. Listen to that pedal steel. John Fackler really likes that last chorus. It kind of blew his mind. Also, that drummer. Oh man. John Fackler can't even begin to talk about the vocals. We will be here all day if he starts.

John Velghe and the Prodigal Sons are:

John Velghe - vocals, guitar, etc..
Mike Alexander - guitars and vocals
Chris Wagner - bass guitar and vocals
Giuliano Mingucci - drums
Josh Quint - Pedal Steel

Sam Hughes - Saxophones (plural)
Hermon Mehari - Trumpet

Studios:
