about

lyrics

You’re like a porcelain doll
It seems your face is blue
Your face is blue

You stopped breathing now
Your words: I “did this to you”
I “did this to you”

This mess is in my
This mess is in my hands
This mess is in my
This mess is in my hands

So I'll burn this time with you
This ain't my home
You’re not my home
I’ve stopped breathing now I'm blue
You're not my home
You're not my home

This mess is in my
This mess is in my hands
This mess is in my
This mess is in my hands

And the message on the phone says you won't call again
And the message in my mind says you're not here
And I can't stand to see another day

This mess is in my
This mess is in my hands
This mess is in my
This mess is in my hands

And I can't stand to see you any more
Wish you'd walk out the door
And leave

from I'll Repay You: A Benefit for John Fackler - featuring the songs of John Fackler and Jettison, released May 20, 2016
Written by John Fackler, but would not exist without Revolvers or Mike A. This was an attempt to really play fast. Sometimes John had trouble keeping up with the rest of his band, who were much, much better players than he was. Much.

Mike has no problem keeping up. Buddy throws the song into the stratosphere and then gives it a kick and laughs at it. Chris, as usual, plays the bass parts that make John go "Yes. That. That is it. That is bass."

The first time John heard Mike's vocal on this track, he turned to Mike halfway through and said "It's fun to sing, isn't it?"

Mike just chuckled a little and nodded.
